The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) Homelessness Resource Center (HRC), Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH), Services in Supportive Housing (SSH), and SSI/SSDI Outreach Access and Recovery (SOAR) are offering a FREE two-day regional training!
The purpose of this training is to advance best practices and innovative strategies in homeless services. Based on person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approaches to care, topics will focus on housing, employment, critical time intervention, consumer integration, motivational interviewing, medical care for non-medical providers, population-focused approaches, communities of practice, self-care, and more.
This training is for anyone working in homeless services in contexts including street outreach, drop-in centers, shelters, permanent supportive housing, criminal justice re-entry, mental health, addictions, health care, supported employment, faith-based initiatives, and schools. We welcome direct service providers, consumers, support staff, administrators, government staff, and policy makers from throughout the Northeastern United States. We extend a special invitation to PATH and SSH grantees.
